Community Bank-Wheaton/Glen Ellyn Salutes our Service Troops and Veterans

Army Specialist (SPC) Adam Wallace presented Scott Hamer, Community Bank – Wheaton/Glen Ellyn President the American Flag that was flown at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan on July 24, 2011 in honor of the bank. Mr. Hamer graciously accepted the flag, which is on display at the Glen Ellyn Main Facility, 357 Roosevelt Road.
SPC Wallace was in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom from November 2010 until September 2011. His job during this deployment was to train the Afghan National Army to run a detention facility. He was responsible for the care, custody and control of the detainees and he was directly responsible for training over 200 Afghan Nation Army correctional officers.
SPC Wallace earned the Army Commendation Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, NATO Afghanistan Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Overseas Service Ribbon for his service.
